The Divinio Infante Museum in Gardone Riviera

The museum Divino Infante in Gardone Riviera contains the largest collection of figures of the divine child, Baby Jesus, in the world, and is the only museum of its kind. Since opening in November of 2005, art collector Hiky Mayr, a woman of German origin, has been scouring the globe to discover a myriad of different kinds of sculptures of the Baby Jesus to restore and display.

Currently the museum contains over 250 sculptures of the holy child, spanning over four centuries and the exhibit details the vastly different materials and techniques used to create the ornaments, which range from wax and papier-mâché to wood and terracotta and even the exhibition even features some rare depictions of Jesus as a female child.

The museum Divino Infante is located in Gardone Riviera, a beautiful Lombardy town on the western shore of the world famous Lake Garda, and contains all the amenities you would expect as well as full wheel-chair access. If you’re looking for an enlightening and unique way to spend an holidays at lake Garda then look no further than the museum Divino Infante in Gardone Riviera.
